Brief

The brief to myself was to design a home with a bold modern aesthetic. The interiors were to be modern and luxurious. The different textures of finishes should stand the test of time. A passive solar design was paramount.

Outcome

The goal of the spatial planning was to reflect grandeur and emphasise natural light. The entry foyer houses a double void that oozes with ambience. The unexpectedness of a double sided fireplace, the sourced designer pendant light all underlines the wow factor. Both ensuite reflect hotel elegance. The main bathroom portrays a picture of modern Baroque enchantment. This feel has continued in the teenager’s bedroom. Picture gallery ambience has been incorporated in the corridors. The kitchen was designed as the focal point of the living area upstairs and has entertainment and glamour in mind. The design is sleek and modern and the benchtop incorporates a sculptured dynamic. The bold and creative interplay of textures internally has added a whole new dimension. The combination of large glass doors and windows allows natural light to prevail. The quirky aesthetic on the whole has given the home a real soul.
